The Shri Bengal Bihar Orissa Digambar Jain Tirtha Kshetra Committee (BBOTC) is dedicated to preserving and promoting Jain heritage across the regions of Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa. BBOTC manages several key Jain pilgrimage sites, including Sammed Shikharji, ISRI, Champapur, Udaygiri/Khandgiri, Cuttack, and Palganj. The committee focuses on maintaining these tirthas, organizing religious and cultural events, and engaging in community service initiatives. By fostering spiritual growth and cultural preservation, BBOTC plays a crucial role in supporting the Jain community and ensuring the continued reverence of these sacred sites. At the heart of the Shri Bengal Bihar Orissa Digambar Jain Tirtha Kshetra Committee is a dedicated team of current committee members, previous committee members, and compassionate individuals who share a common goal: to serve the Jain community. Each member of our team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, ranging from administrative expertise to deep spiritual understanding. Together, we work tirelessly to provide exceptional service, ensuring that every aspect of your pilgrimage is handled with care and respect.
Our motto is deeply rooted in the core principles of Jainism, reflecting our commitment to the values that define our community and guide our actions. The phrase emphasizes the interconnectedness of all living beings, reminding us that every soul is dependent on others. This principle is central to the Jain belief in Parasparopagraho Jīvānām—the idea that all souls support one another.
Ahimsa (Non-violence) is at the heart of our motto, teaching us that true spirituality lies in causing no harm to any living being, whether in thought, word, or deed. The mention of forgiveness (Kshama) highlights the Jain virtue of letting go of anger and resentment, recognizing that forgiveness is not a sign of weakness but a strength that elevates the soul.
Reflecting on the impermanence of life encourages us to detach from material desires and focus on spiritual growth, embodying the principle of Anitya Bhavana (impermanence). Finally, the call to peaceful coexistence (Shanti) reinforces the Jain commitment to live harmoniously with others, upholding the supreme religion of non-violence and compassion.
